Lev Leshchenko: I hate my country

The other day, rallies were held in Moscow because of the refusal to register independent candidates for elections. On one of the squares, the folk singer of the RSFSR Lev Leshchenko was seen chanting “Shame” and “Crooks and thieves, five minutes to pack.” The artist himself, when trying to interview him, immediately hurried to hide in the crowd.
But the protesters said they would never confuse the artist’s appearance and voice with someone else. Later, the artist no longer began to hide, but openly signed autographs, took pictures with everyone and called for blocking traffic throughout the capital. Also, one of the cameramen was able to capture the singer’s shocking words – “Yes, let them fail, I already hate my country because of them, they stole everything.”
This quote went viral on social media very quickly. Readers are divided into two camps. Some support the artist in his statements, others call Lev Leshchenko a hypocrite and ask him to deprive him of all previously issued awards. The artist himself does not hide his presence at the rally, and claims that he was almost detained by riot police at the entrance from Trubnaya Square. At the last moment, Lev Leshchenko was recognized by one of the commanders who cordoned off the area of the battalion, and decided to let him go. The singer said that this was not his first and not his last appearance at the rally, because he is an ardent supporter of the opposition, and now he will appear at every such event.
